HIV Prevention Program

 

   

Protect Yourself 1, Inc. is a media driven agency with a focus on providing HIV Awareness, Education and Prevention in innovative ways. PY1 has a history of development and implementation of direct HIV prevention social marketing media campaigns statewide and in the local metro urban area.

The organization partners with national organizations; the National Association of People With AIDS (NAPWA), The National Center for Health Behavioral Change (NCHBC) and LIGHT, Health & Wellness Comprehensive Services, Inc.(LIGHT), to build capacity for PY1’s HIV prevention program.

Since AIDS has become a human tragedy, and the HIV and STD infection rates are alarming, Protect Yourself 1, Inc. has developed a programmatic plan to encourage Federal, State and Local Governments, as well as community and faith based organizations, businesses and individual to support PY1’s HIV/AIDS and STD Awareness, Education and Prevention program. The following program is designed to further Protect Yourself 1, Inc.'s charitable purpose of providing bold leadership and educational solutions.


PY1 Educational and Entertainment Program
Protect Yourself 1, Inc.'s Educational and Entertainment Program is designed to engage youth, adults and seniors in academic and public venues in order to raise HIV/AIDS and STD Awareness, Education and Prevention. Through education and entertainment, PY1 encourages citizens to take responsibility for the quality of their life.

PY1's Educational and Entertainment Program features two campaigns that provide state-of-the-art, culturally relevant, age-appropriate, and engaging educational productions to increase HIV/AIDS and STD Awareness, Education and Prevention, locally, regionally, nationally and internationally.

 
protectyourself The PROTECT YOURSELF© CAMPAIGN, including a 5-minute Protect Yourself music video, a 30-second Public Service Announcement, and the multi-lingual Stop Signs Project, is designed to impact adults.

The STOP SIGN© PROJECT with its slogan Protect Yourself supports the music video and PSA Protect Yourself. Stop Signs are available in many languages. The Stop Signs are designed to reach a target audience that includes middle-aged and seniors, in order to raise HIV/AIDS awareness, education and prevention.
